Now I was flicking through You & Your Wedding magazine looking at the wedding dress shoots which I always love because you get to see close up detail of the gowns (something you can’t always see on the web) and I love the ruched detail pleating on this Barbara wedding gown from Maggie Sottero. It has a beautiful neckline that doesn’t show too much cleavage which is great for small chested brides and the gentle pleating gives the illusion of curves. But what surprised me when I found this dress on the Maggie Sottero website is that it has this unusual ‘disappearing’ beaded trim on the neckline, something you can’t see in the magazine because they have covered it with the models hair!
Now maybe I’m not a fashion director, but I do know that this lovely embellishment is what makes this dress for me since not only does it give the dress a ‘grecian’ inspired drape effect, but all those sparkling Swarovski crystals negate the need to wear a necklace. The embellishment is carried through to the waist detail as is the gentle pleating to give feminine volume to this A line dress. I think I would get married again just to wear this dress, I love it!
