Burgundy Wedding Dresses

Full on burgundy wedding dresses are quite difficult to come by, most designers will design dresses that have just a touch of burgundy in the trim detail, but if full on burgundy is what you want, here is a small selection.

For a show stopping ball gown style, Mori Lee has a fantastic collection of dresses with embroidered bodices and ruched skirts.  We have featured the gowns from the Quinceanera/Vizcaya collection before under the ‘Gone With The Wind’ heading and these dresses will certainly make you feel like the belle of the ball.

This dress from Alfred Angelo comes in ruby, but unfortunately the colour wizard on the website would not work to show it.  However there is a link on the website to show a video of it on the Today programme.  This style is a traditional shape with the full ruched skirt and train, but changing the colour allows you to stand out from the crowd.

If you are after something more simple but striking, choose a bridesmaids dress like this one from the Alvina Valenta collection from Jim Hjelm Occasions.  There is far more choice of colours in any bridesmaid collections and they tend to be quite a bit cheaper than dresses from the bridal collections.  If you are going to choose a bridesmaids dress for your wedding dress, then dress your bridesmaids in the same style, but another colour, or in simple short dresses.  Don’t worry about whether you will still stand out as the bride as you will be wearing a veil or tiara.

I LOVE the boldness of wedding dresses these days. I also love that bridesmaids gowns don’t have to be “cookie cutter”, as well

I would definitely recommend checking out http://www.elegantmart.com/ for your bridal party gowns!

These are definitely dresses that WILL be worn again!
