The crumbcatcher is the unflattering term used for a wedding dress that has a scalloped effect neckline. This style of wedding dress has been causing quite a stir on the bridal catwalks this year. The shape gives the illusion of extra cleavage and of course, as the name suggests, it comes in very handy at catching the wedding cake crumbs intent on spoiling your dress.

I think the “crumbcatchers” are awful! They may enhance the cleavage but don’t appear to enhance anything else.
I’ve always loved the “crumb catcher” idea. My two favorite necklines are that and the sweetheart! I also love that it is in style for this fall. Great timing for my wedding. ;0) I was getting so tired of seeing the same old sleek strapless look on everyone. I love embellishments and laces. Its unique and I think the crumb catcher is a dash of unique for the traditional bride trying to soften her look or get a bit funky.
I purchased a Watters & Watters (Genova) strapless gown with a crumbcatcher bodice for my June 2009 wedding – it’s far more flattering than you might think – and it certainly balances out my figure.
