Laser Cut Wedding Invitations

Chartula Studios Fairytale Thistle and Rose

Now, I have seen some pretty wonderful things done with a programmed laser over the last couple of years and they first came to the fore with the gorgeous laser art collection from Cartalia (You can also find the full Cartalia range  in all its glory with  reviews of most designs at Olivia Samuel).

I have always been pretty amazed by the intricacy of the Cartalia Laser Art collection even though it has been on the market for a couple of years now.  I was however blown away when I saw the Fairytale Thistle & Rose design from Chartula Studios.  Chartula StudiosThe laser cut detail is so fine you would be afraid to pick it up for fear of breaking one of the fine paper stems.  It is of course its delicacy is where the appeal lies and as with all magical fairytales it has the wow factor in abundance.   Unfortunately, this is a bespoke design and bespoke excellence comes at a price with all orders starting at a minimum of £1000.

The cost of laser machines has come done in recent years so there are now a number of stationers who have added this machine to their armoury.  If you are considering a laser cut design then my tip is to make sure that you always receive a sample first.  There is a problem with all lasers in that becasue they are effectively burning the card they can leave scorch marks in their trail.  With thicker cards this can be a bigger problem because the intensity of the laser needs to be notched up a peg or two.  Scorch marks are hardly noticeable on darker colour boards so these are the best colours to stick to.  The following cards in the Cartalia Laser Art collection are safe bets.
